I set this table for a little potluck luncheon I hosted for some friends to celebrate Valentine’s Day. After we ate, we all took turns sharing what we loved about each other. It was so much fun, and everyone went away feeling loved and admired by the end of the lunch! We all need that once in a while, and what better time to share your heart than Valentine’s Day?

Turning 50 and the List of 50 Awesome Things I did to Celebrate-Part One
I turned 50 just over a year ago and I decided to embrace the BIG 50 by making a list of 50 Things to accomplish this year. I finished the last of the 50 things on my 51st birthday on New Years Eve, 2019. I’m sharing the list of what I did and a little bit about each item on the list. This is a long post so I broke it up into two parts. I hope that those who come upon this post are inspired to live your best life and go outside your comfort zone. Many of the things on the list were fun and exciting, some were challenging, some were outside my comfort zone, and some were acts of service and helping others. Overall, it was one of the greatest experiences of my life and I’m so glad I stuck with it and pushed myself to do so many different things. The photos are not the best quality so my apologies for that in advance.

Christmas Home Tour 2017 – Blue, Ivory, and Green Christmas
Welcome! Today I’m sharing all the decorations from our first Christmas at our Highland, Utah home. In our Christmas Home Tour 2017 – A  Blue, Ivory, and Green Christmas, we share all the details below. We have a lot of blue in our decor so I used varying shades of blue, ivory, and green in my decor. All the sources I am able to link will be at the bottom of the post.
EntryWay

I filled a metal container with faux greens and flowers and added two wreaths to the front door.

We added a painted pine cone pick and blueberry picks to the wreaths, then added light blue ribbon tied in a bow. I hung the wreaths with silver command strip hooks. Once you attach the hooks, let them sit for about twenty minutes before you hang the wreath.

One of my favorite things to do is create a beautiful Thanksgiving tablescape where we can gather as a family for Thanksgiving dinner. I thoughly enjoyed creating this Green, Gold, and White Thanksgiving Tablescape. I think this one is one of my favorites!

What makes this award-winning chili recipe so easy is first, it’s a one-pot meal so clean-up is minimal. Second, there are a handful of seasonings and ingredients and minimal prep time. Third, you just have to stir the chili while simmering every so often, and it’s done in just over an hour. No pressure cooking dry beans!

One of my favorite times of year to decorate and create tablescapes is Fall. There are so many beautiful colors to play with and pumpkins seem to come in all sorts of colors, sizes, and velvet! Who doesn’t love a velvet pumpkin?!! This Green and Gold Fall Harvest Tablescape if full of dark green velvety pumpkins, beautiful faux flowers and some of my treasured dishes.

I love adding other elements in the dining room to compliment the tablescape. You can never have enough velvet pumpkins so I added more brown colored velvet pumpkins below this beautiful wood sign from Teal Barn Signs (link for this sign is at the end of the post in the slider with photos of items). Blue and Orange Pumpkin Themed Tablescape

Every year I like to create a pumpkin tablescape and this years came out completely different than I had planned it in my head. Blue was not in my original plan but as I was mixing and matching different dishes to see how they looked together I threw a blue plate in the mix just to see how it looked. The result was this blue and orange pumpkin themed tablescape!

As soon as I saw the blue against the orange, I knew I was changing my original plan. I have a lot of blue decor in my Highland, Utah home and my fall decor colors had a lot of orange colors mixed in so this worked out perfectly and matched my fall decor.

Fall Home Tour -Highland House 2019
Welcome to my home and thank you for joining me on this years Fall Home Tour -2019. I hope you enjoy these glimpses into my Highland, Utah home. I’ll link all sources and information at the bottom of the post.

 
Entryway and Front Porch Decor
I loved the pumpkin tower obelisks that I created last season so I decided to use them again with a slight change. Instead of using larger pumpkins at the base, I used small pumpkins and gourds. If you’d like to see last seasons decor post click here: Fall Home Tour -Highland House

I planted mums and other perennials in the pots with the pumpkin towers and flower pots by the front door.

For the entryway I created a floral arrangement in a blue and white ginger jar with dark blue, burnt orange, and ivory flowers.

Fifty Shades of Blue Guest Room Reveal

I’m finally sharing one of our guest rooms that we call the “blue” room. When we first moved into the Highland house, we somehow named each bedroom by color. This room had blue wallpaper and was a baby boy’s nursery so it naturally became the blue room. There is a lot of blue going on in here so that’s why I’ve called it the fifty shades of blue guest room reveal.

It took me awhile to share this room because it’s usually being used by one of the kids home from college or guests. We jokingly call our Utah house the Holly Hotel because we have a lot of family and friends that come to stay.

There is a Jack and Jill bathroom between the blue room and what I call the “gray room” on the other side.
