Romantic Valentines Tablescape and Dinner for Two

Have you ever wanted to stay home on Valentine's Day and do something romantic for your sweetie? One of the things my husband loves is my cooking. It is the way to his heart and I know how much he loves it when I make that effort for him. This gave me the idea a few years ago to do a romantic dinner at home and create a romantic tablescape for two! It's fun to go out to dinner somewhere fancy but it's also fun changing it up and doing something different.

I created this romantic tablescape to inspire you to change it up a bit and celebrate at home with your sweetheart. You can keep it simple or you can go all out. It's up to you! I created this pretty pink and white Valentines tablescape for a family Valentines Day dinner. We always have Sunday dinner with our family and friends and I enjoy cooking for everyone, This tradition of sharing a meal at least once a week helps keeps our family close. Our children are all in college in Utah and when we are at the Highland house, we always try to get everyone together. I love that my grown children still want to come home and spend time with us.

I often use faux flowers for the garland or centerpiece on my table but when I went to the wholesale flower market and saw these beautiful pink garden roses, I knew I wanted to create a centerpiece with them. It's hard to believe that Christmas is almost here! My talented friends and I have been busy decking out our homes for the holidays, sharing recipes, and creating beautiful tablescapes to host our friends and family. We all love entertaining and hosting parties so we've put together another blog post for our "Holiday Hosting at Home" series. Today we are sharing what we've been doing over the past few weeks including some creative ideas for Christmas decor and tables. I also share a lasagna recipe that is a family favorite and great any time of the year.

Living Room

Today I'm sharing the parts of my home that I decorated for Christmas in the Highland home. Christmas is a special time of year and the tree is my favorite thing. I've always enjoyed decorating for the holidays and I love the warmth it creates in my home. At night when the tree is all lit up, there's a special feeling that is created. Every year I look forward to decorating the house and creating memories with my family.

In the living room, I decorated my 10' flocked long needle pine tree and used different shades of blue, silver, and ivory ornaments to match the other furnishings in the room. The mantle is a garland filled with blueberry picks, white hydrangeas and other greenery. It's so pretty at night when all the christmas lights are on!

For the stair railing, I used a green garland on the stair rail and then wired ribbon into the garland. I added the same blueberry picks used in the tree and mantle.
