Here is the first installment for Holiday Hosting at Home blog hop! There are a handful of ladies that I’ve met that love to do the same things I do when it comes to hosting and entertaining.  When we all spoke on the phone for the first time about teaming up to share our ideas, we all felt like we were speaking the same language!  I think I may have found my soulmates!  With that being said, I am so excited to introduce our new blog hop, Holiday Hosting at Home – Fall Home Decor and Tablescapes.

 

I’ve admired and gained inspiration from many different blog and instagram accounts over the years so when you actually get to connect with the real life people behind the blogs, it’s really great!

My love for homemade goods

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love the smell of warm homemade rolls or bread baking!  That smell conjures up sweet memories of my childhood and fun times around the holidays with close friends and family. I really enjoy cooking for everyone in my life. My husband LOVES my cooking!  My second son, Jordan, has said that whoever he marries has to go to the Holly Jolley cooking school before he will marry them. I told him he might be single for a long time! It makes me so happy that my husband and kids love it so much when I make their favorite things to eat.

Sage Green and White Fall Transitional Tablescape

As we start heading towards fall, I thought it would be nice to create a neutral tablescape that still works for summer but also works as a fall transitional tablescape.   I had invited three different families over for “Lasagna Night” and wanted to try out a new recipe I had for peaches since they were in season.  I planned on having about twenty guests.  I decided to use the outdoor table for the kids’ table, and the indoor table for the adults.  I also utilized the bar for four more place settings for some of the bigger kids.  (Holly’s Homemade Lasagna Recipe) (Fresh Peach Dessert)

I pulled out my sage green dishes, white dishes, all my tan and white napkins, and wicker napkin rings. I also pulled out some woven placemats that mixed nicely with both sets of dishes and linens.  I played around with the different plates and linens to see what looked nice

Simple Tomato Cucumber Salad

This simple veggie salad is light and so easy to make! I came up with this recipe after visiting my friend Amy Brown’s Laughing Goat Flower Farm.  Amy has a beautiful flower farm and grows vegetables that she sells to local restaurants. When I saw how many beautiful varieties of cherry tomatoes she had in her massive garden, I knew I had to make something with them.  I also grew some of my own vegetables and wanted to use what I had in my garden as well! Using what is fresh and in season is something I really enjoy. There is nothing better than picking something you have grown, as you know exactly where it came from. I have always enjoyed growing and cultivating my own food.

Whether I am in Utah or Washington, at the end of the summer it is peach season!  Both states have a lot of peach trees! I love peaches and the yummy desserts you can make with them. Peaches remind me of summertime and this fresh peach dessert recipe makes me wish it was summertime all year long!

A few weeks back I was at a family gathering at my brother’s home in Cache Valley in Northern Utah. They had invited some friends and family over to celebrate my nephew’s return from a two-year mission for our church.
