I have had many requests to share how I get my guest bedrooms and bathroom ready for when we have company so I put together this post sharing all the things I like to do to make our guests who come to stay with us feel warm and welcome when they are coming to visit. The Guest Bedrooms

Every Spring I like to do a little update to our master bedroom so I set out to create a transitional + french country master bedroom vibe. I love the new updates to our bedroom in the Highland house and how simple it was to give it a fresh look. The main color in the bedroom before was a sea salt blue and I wanted to change it to more of a french blue color.

I'm finally sharing one of our guest rooms that we call the "blue" room. When we first moved into the Highland house, we somehow named each bedroom by color. This room had blue wallpaper and was a baby boy's nursery so it naturally became the blue room. There is a lot of blue going on in here so that's why I've called it the fifty shades of blue guest room reveal.

It took me awhile to share this room because it's usually being used by one of the kids home from college or guests. We jokingly call our Utah house the Holly Hotel because we have a lot of family and friends that come to stay.

There is a Jack and Jill bathroom between the blue room and what I call the "gray room" on the other side.

Refreshing My Master Bedroom for Spring

Refreshing the master bedroom for Spring can be a nice way to update your bedroom without spending a lot of money or time.

One thing I enjoy doing is refreshing the master bedroom every so often without having to buy a lot of new furniture. Because my furniture is still fairly new, I just changed up the duvet, linens, pillows, and throw blankets. This is an inexpensive way to freshen up your room and add some new colors into your decor. Your bedroom should be a warm and cozy space that you want to spend your time in.

The Bedding, Linens, and Pillows

For the bed, I bought an inexpensive sea salt colored duvet cover for the top blanket, a new quilt to go at the end of the bed, and new euro shams. I added a few new throw pillows and a light colored throw blanket on the chaise lounge chair. I am always on the lookout for inexpensive pillows and throw blankets.
