Sharing my festive pink hearts valentines day tablescape for a beautiful Valentines or Galentines Day celebration

Pink Hearts Valentines Day Tablescape

Valentines Day is just around the corner and I wanted to share this darling Pink Hearts Valentines Day Tablescape. I shared some of these photos last year in a post titled How to Mix Valentines Day Decorations into your Winter Decor, but this is the first time I’ve shared all of the details and some close up photos. I’ll also include all the sources and like items that I can find at the bottom of the post.

The Place-setting

The place-setting was inspired by the pink watercolored heart dishes. I mixed them in with some other pink dishes that I found at Homegoods. I love layering dishes and the pink heart plates matched this set I already had perfectly. To keep with a wintery theme, I used a silver leaf placemat and a scalloped silver charger.

I used some frosty white goblets, a pink napkin with silver stitching, and a white napkin ring.

One of my favorite things is the word LOVE painted on the heart plates.

The Centerpiece Garland

I have an obsession with centerpiece garlands! I just love filling up the middle of the table with a garland and adding in items that correspond to the rest of the table.

How do I make these? Well, I’ve been promising a video tutorial so I’ll post that on my Instagram TV soon and if I can figure out how to add a video to my blog I’ll do that too!

I always start with a base later of greenery. On this particular one, I had already made a versatile winter green garland for the holiday season. I decided to add some pink flowers into it and I have to say that it’s one of my favorites! The frosty faux greenery mixed with the pink peonies and spray roses, as well as the frosted white peonies, made this one extra beautiful. Everything in this garland is artificial! Faux flowers and greenery have come a long way!

I also added in some painted pine cone picks and some ornaments left over from the holidays that looked like aspen tree bark. I like adding in the different layers and items to fill up the centerpiece. All these elements add texture and color.

In these photos you can see some of the details of the base garland. On the bottom there is a cedar garland and cedar branches. Next I layered in frosted pine branches and frosted eucalyptus. Then I finished off the greenery with some white frosted mistletoe stems with white berries and then added the pine cone picks.

Here is what it looked like on top of the table runner before I added in the pink valentines accents.

Adding in all the extra pink and white flowers made it a lot fuller. You can see how I’ve reused this same base greenery for the past three years with multiple tablescapes here: How To Create a Versatile Winter Centerpiece Garland.  I’ve lost count on how many tablescapes I’ve done using this same garland. I store it by sliding it onto a large piece of cardboard and then I pull up the sides and tape it shut. Then I wrap it in plastic to keep it from getting dusty and store it with my winter and holiday decor in my basement.

The Extra Details

One thing I love adding to my tablescapes is mini salt and pepper shakers. Its nice to have your own set close by so you don’t have to ask to pass the salt and pepper. The lids on these are pink and they added another cute layer to this table. I also used pink Himalayan salt! You could use white pepper too if you wanted to be extra creative! I couldn’t find anywhere to link these but I linked similar ones below and you could use rose gold spray paint on the lids if you wanted to achieve this same look.

I also added these mini love signs at the ends of the garland and it’s just an added touch. I always say the beauty lies in the details.

How to Create a Versatile Winter Centerpiece Garland

Today I’m sharing how to create a versatile winter centerpiece garland for my dining table. This is the most versatile garland centerpiece and I’ve used it over and over again to create different Tablescapes for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Winter, and Valentines Day.

I created this garland centerpiece out of one faux cedar garland and then added different types of faux branches and picks into it. I added frosted eucalyptus and painted pine cone picks. All of this is laid on top of a table runner.

To store it and re-use it again, I cut up a large cardboard box and folded the sides up. I slide it onto the cardboard box using the table runner to help slide it and then wrap it in plastic. Doing it this way keeps it in tact and makes it easy to move to the storage room.

Why This is my Favorite Garland Centerpiece

One of the reason’s I love this centerpiece garland so much is that I can put it on the table in early November and use it all the way through winter. I’ll share all the different Tablescapes I’ve created using this same base garland. Even I was surprised at how many versions I’ve done when I put them all together in this post.

Using this same centerpiece garland over and over again is a great way to reuse your holiday decor and it save time and money. You can also do this with real branches and flowers but it won’t last as long! I’ve done it both ways mixing faux and fresh. Be creative and do what works best for you!

Thanksgiving, Christmas, Winter, Valentines Day and More!

I usually decorate for Christmas in early November and so I always try to create a versatile garland centerpiece that can be changed multiple times in multiple ways.

I’ll share all the different versions and little detail on each tablescape below. Not only can you add different things into the garland for each holiday and winter season, but you can also change it up by using different dishes, table linens, votive candle holders, and candlesticks. I always change out the pillows in the end chairs to match too.

2017 Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Winter Versions

This is the first Thanksgiving tablescape I made with this garland. To make it work for Thanksgiving, I added in silver turkeys, silver mercury pumpkins, and some other taupe colored pumpkins made out of fabric. For the place settings I used my white and silver fine china which was a gift from my husband for our twentieth anniversary. To make it more elegant, I used votive candle holders nestled into the garland and silver candlesticks with white pillar candles.

As soon as Thanksgiving was over I took out all the pumpkins and turkeys and added in silver mercury ornaments to transform it to my Christmas tablescape. I also changed the dishes to my everyday blue dishes and switched out the napkins. These simple changes changed the entire look of the table.

I added the little reindeer salt and pepper shakers. I love adding these small details!

When Christmas was over, I took out all of the ornaments and changed the place-setting again to make it more neutral for the rest of the Winter season

You can see how different it looks by changing things up with the place-setting, linens, and other items added to or removed from the base garland.

2018 Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Winter Versions

This is a tablescape I created for Jordan Winery. I used my blue and white dishes with silver napkins. I added in velvet pumpkins as well as the silver turkeys. I love how the blue and green look together.

To change things up for this years Christmas tablescape, I added in blue tiny bottle brush trees and blue ornaments along with the silver mercury glass ornaments.

2019 Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Winter Versions + a Valentines Version for the Beginning of 2020

Here’s one other way I used the same garland as a centerpiece. I host a Christmas cookie exchange every year and the garland was a perfect centerpiece.

Sometimes after we’ve had family dinner, I will take all the dishes off the table and just leave the garland centerpiece on it’s own. For this one, I left the winter white frosted peonies and the mistletoe stems I had put in the tablescape for this years decor. Each year I add something new into the base to make it different.

I wanted to enjoy the winter decor I’d left up after Christmas and I had this idea to add some pink flowers into the garland and use it for Valentines Day! I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before!

I love how it turned out and it’s now on my list of favorites! I like the idea of combining my Valentines Day decor with my winter decor. This saved me so much time and money! The only thing I bought for this Pink and White Hearts Valentines Day Tablescape was the heart shaped plates. I love it when I can pull something like this off without a ton of effort!

I added in some pink votive candle holders and the little “love” sign at the end of the garland. I also used rose gold miniature salt and pepper shakers. I filled the salt shakers up with pink Himalayan salt and they are so cute!

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the all the different ways I’ve reused this same winter centerpiece garland. I might just keep it up until Saint Patricks Day! I counted twelve different Tablescape variations with this one base garland!

How to Mix Valentines Day Decorations into your Winter Decor

This past holiday season I decorated our Highland, Utah house with different shades of green and ivory. When I was taking down all the Christmas decorations, I decided to leave up the more neutral decorations that would double as my winter decor. I always enjoy decorating for each season and I think Winter is often overlooked! When I think of Winter colors, I think of green, silver, white, and gold. Now that it’s time for Valentines Day, I decided to keep it simple and add in some pink decorations for valentines day. I’m excited to share with you how simple and easy it is to mixing valentines day and winter decor.

The Tablescape

First and most importantly (at least to me) is the tablescape! If you’ve followed me for awhile, you’ll know how much I love creating a Tablescapes and Valentines is always one of my favorites because I get to use pink!

Below is the Winter garland centerpiece I created out of faux cedar garland, a mix of faux greenery picks, white frosted peonies, and mistletoe stems. I made this in November and my plan was to use it for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the Winter season. Then I had this great idea to add pink flowers to it for Valentines Day. Mixing in the pink was  so easy and I just used some faux pink flowers I already had so it didn’t cost me anything extra to turn this into a Valentines Day garland and tablescape.

Next, lets talk about the place-setting! Once I added the pink flowers into the garland, I pulled out my pink dishes and ordered some pink heart plates I found online.

I used pink napkins and white beaded napkin rings. For the placemats, I used silver leaves which had little hints of gold brushed over the top of the leaves. I used my gold and silver flatware and goblet glasses. One extra detail I like to add to my tablescapes is individual salt and pepper shakers. Then no-one has to ask to pass the salt and pepper! These rose gold miniature salt and pepper shakers are so cute too!

Setting a beautiful table is one of my favorite things to do and I liked how quickly I was able to set this table using things I already had. The only thing I had to purchase was the heart plates.

The Kitchen and Open Shelving

One thing I enjoy doing is using flowers in my home, especially the kitchen. I tend to use faux or artificial flowers when real ones are not in season and this allows me to purchase them once and use them over and over again. Adding flowers to a vase or ginger jar is a great way to bring color into any room. I like to fill a ginger jar full of pink flowers and set it on my island. This pretty pink ginger jar is from Lauren Haskell Designs and I’ll link it below.

Styling the open shelves and counter tops is also something I like to do. I left up some of the winter green decor items on the open shelves and mixed in the pinks dishes, flowers, and other items to create the winter and valentines mix.

Then, I used this adorable XOXOXO valentines banner and felt ball heart garland on the range hood, ( I’ll link these and everything else below). I don’t know why I hadn’t thought before to mix my pink and green dishes together but I love how pretty they are together.

Instead of taking my winter berry and cedar wreaths off my bar stool chairs, I left them up. Such a pretty contrast to the pink flowers on the marble counters. I wish I’d had more time so I could have added a pink ribbon!

The Hot Cocoa Bar

I almost always have my hot cocoa bar set up during the cold months of the year. I enjoy changing it up with each season. I make my own hot cocoa mix (its the only recipe I don’t share) and its a family favorite! Those who’ve had the pleasure of my hot cocoa can attest to how good it is and that’s why I leave it out! Anyone who comes over can always find a cup of cocoa in my home!

If you look toward the back of the tray where the hot cocoa jar is, you’ll see these cute paper cups and lids that I set out in case anyone wants to take some on the go! The pink heart marshmallows and the cups I found at Homegoods.

I put some valentines candy in some of my vintage milk glass bowls and wrapped a red and white heart felt garland around the tray. I collect different coffee and cocoa mugs and found so many cute ones this year at Homegoods. This is a great place to find things for your home and hot cocoa bar!

I hope you enjoyed seeing the simple and easy ways to transition your Winter home decor into Valentines Day without a lot of work, time, and money. This was way easier than it looks because I had already done a lot of the work before the holidays. Enjoy!
