The Most Beautiful Living Room Decorated for Christmas

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and what better way to embrace the holiday spirit than by adorning your living room with the most beautiful and elegant Christmas decorations? In this blog post, I’ll be sharing my Christmas decor in my living room decorated in shades of light pink and gold. From the flocked Christmas tree adorned with pink and gold accents to the fireplace mantle, I’ll share all the big and little details on how I decked out the halls for this holiday season. Did I mention that my name is Holly and I was due to be born on Christmas day so my parents named me Holly…….and then I married a guy with the last name Jolley! Yep, I’m Holly Jolley! So when I say have a Holly Jolley Christmas, I really mean it, literally!

The Christmas Living Room Color Palette

Today I’m sharing my Christmas living room décor with shades of light pink and gold – an unconventional yet beautiful color scheme that transformed my living room into a sophisticated winter wonderland. Bid farewell to the traditional Christmas colors and see all the details of my holiday living room adorned with delicate hues of pink and gold accents.

My little bernedoodle Copper always loves to pose for my photos on the settee! I wish I could share the source for this but it was discontinued many years ago. It was purchased from Gatehouse in Orem, Utah.

The Living Room Christmas Tree

I absolutely love having a flocked Christmas tree! My husband despises the flocked trees but he always manages to help me put them up even though they make quite a mess! My tree is a 12′ Flocked Long Needle Pine. It comes pre-lit but I’ve learned that the lights rarely work so I add my own lights to the tree.

I always use a lot of ornaments when I decorate my trees and it’s surprising how many a big tree holds! I love adding ribbon throughout the tree and it’s one of my favorite ways to fill in any holes and add more color to the tree. Another way to add color and fill holes is to add berries, flowers, and some type of greenery or branches to the tree. For this tree, I used frosted gold eucalyptus, gold bay leaf sprays and other gold-colored cedar branches as well as weeping snowy pine cone branches.

For the top of the tree, I used some gold feather picks and more gold-frosted eucalyptus.

I always match my wrapping paper to the tree and colors that I decorate with to create a cohesive look. This year I used nesting boxes, gold and white gift boxes as well as pink, gold, and white wrapping paper with lots of ribbon in the same colors. I love how it looks when the presents match the tree. Here are some of my favorite wrapping paper and ribbon to wrap presents with! I also added more at the bottom in the shop my post section.

I used a four-inch wide gold-edged velvet ink ribbon for the tree. I cut long strips of the ribbon and then tied a green floral wire in the center of the ribbon and then wired it into the tree.

I used a variety of blush pink, gold, antiqued gold, bronze, and copper colored ornaments. I loved the variety on the tree. It’s amazing how many ornaments it takes to fill a up a 12′ tree!

The Christmas Living Room Accents

I also added other pink and gold accents to the living room to tie the tree and mantle together which makes it all cohesive. One thing I always love to add to the coffee table and shelves is a flower arrangement. I made this simple one using these Snowy Pink Peonies, Snowy Peony Spray, and Snowy Hydrangeas. I also added some other decorative accents like this gold deer head and a snow globe.

I also love to add in vases that match the decor colors and then I added in some reindeer, pink throw pillows and pink throw blankets. It adds more warmth and coziness to the room. Here’s a few from my shop HollyJHome.com but I added more options down below in the Shop The Post Section.

As the weather cools down and leaves turn vibrant shades of orange and red, it’s the perfect time to transition your home decor for the fall season. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year because it gives us the opportunity to embrace warm, inviting, and cozy elements that make our spaces feel like a comforting retreat. Below, I’ve gathered some of my favorite fall decor ideas that will help you transform your home into an autumn haven.

1. Rich, Warm Color Palette

One of the easiest ways to bring the fall season into your home is by swapping out your summer hues for a more fall-inspired palette. Think burnt oranges, deep burgundies, mustard yellows, and warm browns. These colors evoke a sense of warmth and can be used throughout your space in throw pillows, blankets, and even art prints.

2. Pumpkin Accents

What says “fall” more than pumpkins? Whether real or faux, pumpkins are a must-have for fall decor. You can find ceramic or wooden pumpkins in neutral shades for a minimalist look or opt for traditional orange ones to give a pop of color. My shop has a large selection of various pumpkins such as glass, ceramic, felt, and wooden. Each of the items in this shop are hand-selected and things I use in my house throughout the year!

Line them up on your mantel, use them in a centerpiece, or place small ones on side tables or shelves for a subtle nod to the season. This fall tablescape has a wide variety of pumpkins used and shows how beautiful an assortment of pumpkins can make any space.

3. Cozy Throws & Pillows

Layering throws and pillows is an excellent way to instantly warm up any space. Look for soft, chunky knits or faux fur textures to add comfort. Gorgeous Camper Renovation

As our 30th anniversary approached, I found myself facing a familiar dilemma: what do you get for the man who seems to have everything and wants for nothing? My husband Craig, notoriously difficult to surprise, is not one for jewelry, watches, or any typical anniversary fare. Even the Swiss watch we bought together while in Switzerland on our 23rd anniversary remains untouched, nestled in its box 8 years later. Yet, amidst this challenge, a glimmer of inspiration struck, setting the stage for what would become the best anniversary gift ever.

It all began with a casual remark from my husband about the idea of owning a camping trailer. He mentioned how much he would like to get a camper that we could take up into the mountains or the coast and so, the seed was planted for a big surprise: a fully renovated camper that we can use to make memories with each other, our children, and our grandchildren.

Enter Renee, a friend I had connected with through Instagram, known for transforming old camping trailers into the cutest and coziest sanctuaries. I reached out to Renee and to see if she and her husband had any campers available and it just so happened that they did! They had just started renovating a 2006 Scotsman 32-foot trailer and I decided to buy it to give to my husband Craig for our 30th Anniversary.

From top to bottom, the transformation was nothing short of amazing! Gone were the outdated fixtures and tired interiors, replaced by a vision of modern farmhouse charm. They installed real tile in the bathroom and shower, a beautiful sink and vanity, a decorative mirror, new black towel racks, and lighting fixtures.

Bunk Room

The sleeping quarters were reconfigured to fit a king-size bed, three bunk beds, a desk area, and a television – perfect for family adventures.

Main Bedroom

The main bedroom space was also transformed and a king-size bed was built to replace the smaller queen-size bed and a creative headboard was added. New lighting, floors, and window treatments were added to finish off the camper renovation.

Kitchen and Dining Area

The heart of the camper, the kitchen, underwent a makeover too! Handmade wood furnishings including the dining table, new countertops, and cabinets breathed new life into the space, complemented by a tile backsplash that made it feel less like a camper and more like a real kitchen.

Living Room Space

To complete the main gathering space, a stone fireplace and cleverly concealed television adorned the main living area, creating a cozy and warm space to gather inside the camper.

The journey to bring this surprise to fruition was not without its challenges. Coordinating the transport of the trailer from Wisconsin to our home in Utah was no small feat, but with determination and a bit of logistical magic, it arrived just in time for our anniversary. The final touch? A personalized sign adorning the camper’s interior, proudly proclaiming it as “Craigy’s Camper” (everyone in our family calls him Craigy except me) – a fitting tribute to the man of the hour. The look of astonishment on his face when he first laid eyes on his unexpected gift was a moment I’ll treasure forever.

In the end, it wasn’t just the camper itself that made this anniversary gift so special; it was the thought, care, and effort that went into orchestrating the perfect surprise. And for that, I have Renee and her husband to thank, whose talent and hard work made it all possible. I know we will treasure the time spent and memories made in our new camper!

As we embark on new adventures together, I’m reminded that the best gifts are not always the ones you can buy, but the ones that come from the heart – and this anniversary, I think I hit the mark.

Give your kitchen a little holiday makeover this year with some easy and elegant Christmas kitchen decor ideas.

1. Add a simple wreath to the range hood.

This will add a touch of green and Christmas cheer to your kitchen.

2. Add ribbon and a small wreath in your Christmas color scheme to the backs of your chairs.

To add the wreaths to the back of my barstools, I layered a small cedar wreath under a frosted pip berry wreath then wired them together then I tied ribbon around the chair and tied a double knot with extra left over to hang down about 10″. Then I wired the double stacked wreaths to the ribbon.

3. Add a wreath with ribbon to your pantry door.

I took a large wreath and wired the same ribbon I used in my tree and barstools to the bottom of the wreath. Then I used a command strip hook to hang it on the pantry door.

4. Add a wintery mix of stems and greenery in a large vase or ginger jar.

I made this wintery flower arrangement for the center of the island. I used white frosted peonies, red frosted pip berry greenery, and frosted eucalyptus to make this flower arrangement.

6. Decorate with vintage Christmas trucks.

I set a table using these cute red truck dessert plates from Cracker Barrel and added the extras throughout the kitchen to carry that them over from the dining room.

7. Add wooden trees to your open shelves.

If you have open shelving or open counter space, you can use decorative items like these wood trees to add a pop of color.

8. Add wooden Christmas words to a cake stand.

This is a fun way to add color, as well as different decorative elements to a space. I have a lot of white in my kitchen so the red and greens really pop!

9. Don’t forget to add in some festive baking utensils.

This year, give your kitchen a little holiday makeover with these easy and elegant Christmas kitchen decor ideas. Summertime Backyard Home Tour

I’ve been wanting to add some new outdoor furniture to our backyard spaces and I finally found some that check all the boxes. We are really enjoying this beautiful furniture from RST Brands and I’m excited to share this Summer Backyard Home Tour in our Highland home.

Styling the Backyard Patios

We have two separate spaces in our backyard. The fire pit area and the back porch area which is right off the back of the house. I styled the furniture in both spaces to see which one I liked more and as nice as it looked on the upper porch patio area, I decided to leave it down by the fire pit. Our outdoor dining table and chairs work best up closer to the house. I’ll share both spaces below and you can decide which one you like best.

This is the upper back porch space that I styled first. As much as I love it up here, my outdoor dining table and chairs needed a place to go but, I sure love how beautiful this outdoor patio furniture is. It’s beautiful wherever it goes!

Add Flowers to Your Outdoor Spaces

One of my favorite ways to add beauty to my outdoor decor spaces is to add flowers. I love flowers and gardening and I usually buy my own flowers and plant my flower pots in late spring. This an easy and affordable way to add color and beauty to your back porch and patio. You can also buy flower pots or containers at your local home or grocery stores that are already planted.

I created my own herb garden in galvinized metal container and it also doubles as a living centerpiece for the coffee table. When I’m cooking and need some fresh herbs, I just snip them from this little herb garden I planted. You can see how I made this here: DIY Herb Container Garden

Preparing for Guests: Ideas on How to get a Bedroom and Bathroom Guest Ready

I have had many requests to share how I get my guest bedrooms and bathroom ready for when we have company so I put together this post sharing all the things I like to do to make our guests who come to stay with us feel warm and welcome when they are coming to visit. Keep scrolling for my tips on how to prepare your home for guests.

The Guest Bedrooms

I have two guest rooms at our home in Utah and I recently did a little refresh of both bedrooms. I updated the bedding in both rooms and figured this was the perfect time to share the things I do to get the guest bedrooms and bathroom ready for company.

Did you notice the pineapple on the left side of the bed? I learned from a friend of mine who is from the south, that pineapples are the sign of hospitality so I put a pineapple on the nightstand!

Navy Blue Guest Room

To refresh the blue guest room I switched out the bedding with this new comforter and sham set from the Martha Stewart Collection at Macy’s.

I added new white sheets and they have the prettiest stitching detail.

I added the new pillow shams on top of the sleeping pillows then added a throw pillow. I usually add a light or heavy blanket under the comforter depending on what season it is.

Light Blue Guest Room

To refresh the light blue guest room, I also added new bedding from Boll & Brach as well as some new throw pillows and this gorgeous blanket from Minky Couture.

 Jack and Jill Bathroom

The two guest rooms share a jack and jill bathroom so I refreshed that as well. There are two vanities and a separate area for the shower and toilet. There is also a linen closet to store fresh towels, bedding, and toiletries.

Special Touches to Make your Guests Feel Welcome

I like to add special touches to each bedroom and bathroom.

Launder the Bedding

I always launder all the bedding and make sure everything is fresh and clean. I like to make the bed with lots of pillows and I usually add a pretty throw blanket at the end of the bed or in a basket.

I always have a mattress cover on my beds to protect the mattress and I put pillow case covers on the pillows too.

Clean, Dust, and Vacuum

I give the room a good cleaning which includes dusting, and if needed, (if you have a pet) I use a lint roller on the comforter to make sure there’s no lint or hair of any kind on the bedding. The last thing I do is to vacuum.

Add Flowers to the Dresser or Nightstand

I like to add fresh or faux flowers to the room. What says “welcome to my home” more than a vase full of flowers?

I arranged some faux apple blossom stems in a vase for the blue room and for the other guest room I added some faux hydrangeas to a glass vase.

Put Water on the Nightstand

I put a glass and carafe full of water on the nightstand in case my guest get thirsty in the night.

Sometimes I leave chocolates on the nightstand if I remember to do this!

I love this little carafe and the glass that goes on top of it. It’s perfect for a guest room.

I like to add candles to each room too. They are both decorative and smell nice too. You can also add a decorative reed diffused to your guest room or bathroom.

Special Touches in the Guest Bathroom

I like to add some items to the bathroom for my guests to use when they are here visiting. These extra things also make your guests feel welcome. The first thing I do is clean the bathroom.

Once clean, I lay out a pretty bar or soap or some body wash and a new bath scrunchy for my guests to use. I also add fresh or faux flowers. Here I used faux lambs ear in a sea glass vase and set it in the corner.

I only use white towels in my home. I like to bleach my towels to keep them fresh and germ free. Adding bleach to the washer with your white towels ensures that they are clean and smell good. I also use fabric softer to keep them fluffy and soft. I promise you’ll never have smelly towels if you bleach them.

I love these towels from the Martha Stewart Collection at Macy’s and I like to leave them out on the counter for my guests or in their bedroom on the stools at the end of the bed.

Another special thing I like to do is leave a bathrobe out in the bathroom or hanging in the bedroom. This is another added touch that reminds me of going to a hotel. We jokingly call our home the “Holly Hotel” because we have a lot of visitors so this is fitting!

My favorite place to buy soft and fluffy bathrobes is Keiki Co.

I also leave a magnification mirror (for those of us that are blind!), a basket of hand towels, hand soap, and cotton balls and Q-Tips. I leave extra toothpaste and new toothbrushes, (my husband is a dentist so we always have a lot of them) and razors in the drawer.

I also leave bathroom spray or poo-pourri and flushable wipes on the back of the toilet. I leave extra toilet paper and sanitary items just in case someone needs them. Sometimes I fold over the last square of toilet paper into a triangle and then press it into the bottom of a wet faucet. This imprints the toilet paper like you see in hotels.

When I began this process of updating our lighting, I wasn’t able to go into the Ferguson showroom in Seattle. I was delighted to be able to do a virtual appointment with one of the expert design associates. As I mentioned earlier, I was a little intimidated choosing lighting for this project.

One of the main reasons I was intimidated and a little nervous with this project was because I wasn’t sure on the sizing or what type of lighting to choose for my living room. The other part was that this space in my living room had never had lighting. I don’t know why but when we built the house, it was not really presented as an option from our builder and for eighteen years, we haven’t had a light in this room! The only lighting was from the lamps I had on end tables and the room has always been too dark for me.

The design associate (Hannah) was so helpful and walked me through the process and how to pick the right type of lighting for this space. We also had to run electrical and drill a hole in the ceiling so this became a much larger project than I had envisioned, but Hannah helped me and gave amazing tips on updating lights from start to finish.

Using Lighting to Update a Space Without a Full Renovation

I have a lot of darker colors including black in my living and dining room spaces so I wanted something to work with the existing decor. I’m not quite ready to do a full update of these spaces and felt like adding and updating lighting was a more effective way to update the space without breaking the bank or taking on a bigger project.

I chose the Park Harbor Henrico Pendant light for the living room space. It was the perfect match for this space. The black and brass colors in the light really contrasted well with my existing decor and also added some much needed lighting to this space.

I also added this same pendant light to our entryway (the larger size) and I can’t believe how amazing both lights look. The old chandelier we had was original to the house circa 2003 and to be honest, I never liked it to begin with!

Outdoor Lighting

I also changed out the front porch can light with a pendant light and that also was an amazing transformation! The existing can light didn’t put out much light and I didn’t like how dark our porch and walkway area were. We live out in the foothills of the cascade mountains away from the city lights and it can get very dark here. Since I updated the pendant porch light, I figured I might as well update the pillar lights at the end of our driveway. Those were original to our home too. We have a circular driveway and two pillars on each side so I needed four post/pillar lights.

Again, what a difference this made. Now I just need to wait a little longer for the weather to warm up so I can power wash and clean the posts (we get a lot of moss here in the Pacific Northwest) and these will look good as new!

How I Organize and Store My Dish Collection

One of my most asked questions is how and where I keep my dish collection. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that I have a lot of dishes. I figured it was finally time to share all the details of my dish pantry and how I organize and store my collection. Keep scrolling for dish organization tips.

Organize by Color

One of the easiest ways to keep track of what I have is to organize by color. It makes it much easier when I’m creating a tablescape to be able to see everything in color order. It also looks really pretty!

I love how the pastel colors are in one section.

Another question I get asked often is where do I buy or find all my dishes. Many of them are from Homegoods, some are from the dollar store, many are vintage that I’ve found in antique shops and online from Replacements, Etsy, Mercari, and eBay. I am really good at finding dishes anywhere! My husband can attest to that!

I also store my serving pieces, pitchers, and cake stands in color order.

Utilize Extra Storage in the Kitchen

I am also fortunate to have a lot of storage in the kitchen area, and I’ve managed to fill up those extra spaces with dishes too!

The yellow and white sunflower dishes are hand-painted, and I found them at a dollar store almost 20 years ago when my husband was stationed in Kansas in the US Army. I still love these dishes as much as I did when I bought them, and I’m so glad I saved them!

One thing I really love about my kitchen area is that there is a built-in china cabinet and a side bar area. I have filled up this space with dishes too! I know, shocker! LOL, I store my favorite silver and gold sets in this cupboard along with some antique milk glass.

How to Store and Organize Cake Stands and Serving Dishes

I store odd-shaped items like cake stands and pitchers on the top shelves, and I put my serving dishes and trays on the bottom shelf as they tend to be heavier and are easily stacked on top of each other. I organize them by shape and color.

I also use wire baskets to store smaller items.

Mixing the Old with the New

I collect vintage and antique dishes. Some of these have been gifts from my mother, and the rest I have found one piece at a time. One of my favorites is depression glass. Mixing vintage dishes with newer items adds character and charm.

My Blue Dish Obsession

I don’t know why I’m drawn to blue so much, but I can never pass up blue dishes! Maybe it takes me back to my Danish, Swedish, and English roots.

I’m especially drawn to English china patterns. Some of these are antiques, and some are replicas that are making a comeback. I’ve mixed the old with the new in this section. I also love Royal Copenhagen and hope to have a set of it someday!

I also collect Polish Pottery, which is handmade at a handful of different factories in Poland. I dream of visiting these factories someday!

Last year, I had already outgrown this space in the pantry, so I decided to do a little remodel of the space to make it more functional as well as create more shelf space.

You can see in the photo above that the shelves are starting to bow a little in the middle. We added new supports to the shelves and replaced some of the shelves that were damaged.

The dish storage now extends all the way to the back of the pantry, where the food is, and the bare wall now has shelving that wraps around to the other side. I shifted all the food and other pantry items to the back section.

I like to keep my pantry staples in bins and containers so that it’s easier to find things and stay organized.

Organizing by Season

Last summer, I had this crazy idea to put all my red, white, and blue dishes in one section during the month of July in honor of  Independence Day. It was a lot more work moving the dishes around than I anticipated, and I was regretting my crazy idea, but when it was all done, I was glad I did it. I put all the red, white, and blue dishes and serving pieces in one section, then added a flower arrangement and a few other items to the shelves.

You can also see the supports we added to the shelves above. This has helped keep the heavy dishes from bowing the shelves.

I’ll share a few more of the close-up photos of all the dishes below for those who love to see the details! I know many of you will want to see some of the dish patterns up close.

The light pink dishes are depression glass.

I love gold and white dishes. The gold and white scalloped plates are vintage pieces that I’ve collected one by one. They are Limoges Haviland, Ranson Pattern. I love mixing these older dishes in with the newer sets I have.

Christmas Front Porch Decorating Ideas and Tips

I’ve been so excited to share my Christmas Front Porch Decorating Ideas and Tips with you. I partnered with Martha Stewart and Macy’s to decorate my front porch at our Highland, Utah home. This was so much fun and I loved how easy it was to do this!

The Upper Porch

I have an upper and a lower porch so I’ll break it up so you can see both sections. I used a mix of fresh greenery that I bought from a local garden store, cut branches from trees in my yard, and  I also used artificial greenery from the Martha Stewart Holiday Collection at Macy’s. Mixing fresh and faux greenery is one of my favorite tips and tricks to use to decorate my porch.

In the upper flower pots, I added in the mini artificial trees into the middle of the pot. I nestled it right info the potting soil, then I layered fresh greenery around the base of the tree to cover up the potting soil. I pushed the branches right down into the dirt then added in some large and small pine cones.

To add some decor and color to this section of the porch, I added two reindeer on each side, then added the faux poinsettias into Galvinized metal cans. You can have items be the same on each side or mix it up. My porch has a lot of symmetry and a lot of space to fill up so I find that doing the same on both sides keeps things balanced.

The Front Door Wreaths and Garland

I loved the garland from the Martha Stewart holiday collection. It’s lightly frosted and once I hung it around the doors, it matched well with my silver doors. To hang the garland, I put small nail holes into the wood trim surrounding the doors. I used three of the Martha Stewart garlands from Macy’s to create this look. One on the top of the door, and one for each side.

I was amazed at how easy it was to hang the garlands. If you can’t add nails, outdoor command strips also work well and hold up better outside.

I always add two wreaths to my doors for the holiday season. I tied velvet ribbon bows onto the bottom and hung them with the bows on the bottom of the wreath. Make sure to always “fluff” your garlands and wreaths! Artificial wreaths and garlands need a good fluff when you pull them out of the box or bag they come in. Another tip and trick I used to hang my wreaths is command strips. I have silver ones that match my doors.

When you use command strips, make sure the surfaces you’re adhering them to is clean and dry. Apply the strip to the hook, then apply to the door and let set for at least twenty minutes. (if you have time to let it set overnight, it seems to hold up better) (directions for this are also on the command strip boxes).

I used thin green wire to attach the ribbons. Tie the ribbon around the wreath and then tie a bow. Once the bow is tied, I wrap the wire around the bow and wire it onto the wreath and twisting it on the back side of wreath. You can also tie a loop of wire onto the wreath at the top and to hang it by the wire onto the command strips too. Both options work great for hanging wreaths.

The Lower Porch

We have pavers steps up to the lower porch which makes for a grand entrance. I like having the lower flower pots on the front porch so I can decorate that area too. In these lower pots, I used mostly fresh greenery, birch logs, a few faux red berry stems, and more pine cones.

To create this look, I added the birch logs directly into the potting soil of the pot. I pushed them down a few inches until they could stand up on their own. I  put three in each pot towards the center. Then I took a variety of assorted evergreen branches (pine and cedar) and pushed them down into the dirt going all directions so that the branches were falling outward. The dirt helps the branches to stand up.

After the larger greenery branches were in, I used the smaller branches and nestled them into the area on the bottom to fill in any holes. You don’t want the dirt in the pot showing. I also added the faux red berry stems into the middle to add a pop of red. I would’ve preferred something fresh with red berries but I couldn’t find any this year.

Lastly I added in more pine cones to fill in any other gaps or holes, then I added the gold reindeers into the front of the pots.

To add a little more color and to tie into the upper porch, I added two more of the artificial Christmas trees into glavinzied metal pots and set them to the side of the bigger pots.

I also added a different wreath with red velvet ribbon to both the posts on the lower porch.

Hanging the Wreaths on the Upper Windows

One last inexpensive and easy tip is to add wreaths to the windows. I used command strip hooks on the upper windows and let them sit overnight. The next day, I hung three wreaths on the windows. I also added them to the French doors on the lower level but we had a crazy wind storm and it knocked them down. I will wait to attach them again on a less windy day!

The only thing missing now is the snow! We usually get a little snow by this time of year here in Utah. I hope it comes soon as this will all look so beautiful!

Oh and don’t forget to add a nice doormat by the front doors!

Christmas Tree Decor Ideas

I’m sharing some of my Christmas Tree Decor Ideas and many of these items are on sale too! I’ll link all the items below at the bottom of the post. Keep scrolling for a few tips on decorating a Christmas tree.

Green, Ivory, White, and Silver Flocked Tree

This tree is from 2019 and I think it’s still my favorite one to date. I used my 12′ flocked long needle pine artificial tree. The colors for the tree were green, white, ivory, and silver. I also had some bluish-gray plaid ribbon that I added into the blue decor in my home.

I always add in layers of ribbon. I layered the plaid ribbon with the satin ivory ribbon and the thinner dark green velvet ribbon. To get this look I cut equal lengths of each ribbon and wire it together in the middle and then wire it into the tree towards the back of the tree branch.

I don’t hang my ornaments with hooks. I cut 4-6 inch thin green wire and then attach the ornaments to the tree branches with the wire. For ornaments that have a ribbon or something that is hanging from them, I slide the ribbon or twine over the branch and then wrap it around the branch a few times so that it’s not dangling off the tree as much. Sometimes I will just let them hang but I mostly use the other techniques mentioned above to attach or hang the ornaments from the tree.

I also like to wrap presents in boxes and wrapping paper that match the tree and add other things around the tree like this gold reindeer. I tied some of the matching ribbon around it’s neck too.

My Master Bedroom Tree 2019

This is one of the newer trees I’ve added to my collection. I reuse and rotate my ornaments each year.

This tree had a variety of colors in it but the main color was sea salt blue. This matched my bedroom decor. I added in touches of rust, dark teal, ivory, gold, and silver. The tree is a flocked 7.5 artificial tree.

I also used two shades of velvet teal ribbon and wired it into the tree just as I did in the tree above.

The New Master Bedroom Tree

I bought a new tree for my master bedroom this year. I have vaulted ceilings and wanted a tree that was a little taller. I added some new bedding and colors to my master bedroom and I matched the tree to that. I added in some dark mustard and gold colors and I love how it looks.

One of my bernadoodles, Copper. He’s such a good little poser! Even Copper matches the tree!

Coco and Copper are micro mini bernadoodles and Oso is a long haired chiwawa.

Red, Green and White Traditional Tree

This year I went more traditional in my colors for the main tree in the living room. I used red, green, and white on the living room 12′ flocked long needle pine tree. I also used a lot of red berries and gray and red velvet ribbon.

I like to use branches and berry stems in my tree. I layer them together and then slide them into the tree.

I also used some large gold bells and wired those into the tree.

I only used red and ivory ornaments on this tree and added some green colors in by using the layered ribbons.

This Years Family Room Tree-Red, Green, and White

I used all my green ornaments on this tree in our family room. I also had red frosted berries and a red glittered star at the top.

There’s also mistletoe stems with white berries nestled into the tree and wooden bead garlands throughout.
